The Pine Barrens Half Marathon is a trail race in the NYSDEC David A. Sarnoff Preserve property deep in the Long Island Pine Barrens. A beautiful 2 loop venue. Enjoy the unspoiled lands that we still call our Long Island. This designated Bird Conservation Area is one of the largest undisturbed pine barrens on Long Island. The preserve includes more than 2,300 acres of upland, mixed oak and pine woodland and features trails through classic pine barrens habitat. This race is not for the primpy runner. The race starts a half+ mile into the woods from the County Rd. 104 entrance. We will accommodate transportation from a general parking area at the Ludlam Ave. Town of Southampton Park and overflow parking at the Suffolk County Center if that necessitates.
